Unlimited Chores and Rooms in Xtra Hands
The kitchen reset, the bathroom sink, the laundry that never quite ends: a household does not fit neatly into a short, fixed chore list. Xtra Hands lets you add as many rooms and chores as your family needs, so you can build a routine around your actual home.
Start with one room and a few jobs. Add more when the routine changes. There is no need to squeeze every task into a generic checklist just to stay under a chore limit.
Why we built chores around rooms
"Clean up" can mean five different things to five different people. "Wipe the kitchen table" gives someone a place to go and a clear finish line. Grouping chores by room helps parents set that context and find the work later without searching through one long list.
Rooms are flexible labels for the places your household uses. A kitchen and bathroom are obvious starting points, but a playroom, garage, or entryway can have their own tasks too. The point is to make the list recognizable to the people doing the work.

How to set up a room and its chores
From the parent side of the app, open Manage, then Rooms & chores.
Tap Add a room. Give it a name and choose an icon.
Open that room and tap Add chore. The room is already selected for you.
Name the task, add optional instructions, choose when it repeats, and assign it to a member if you are ready. Save the chore.
For example, create a Kitchen room, then add "Clear dinner dishes" as a daily chore and "Wipe cabinet fronts" as a less frequent one. Each chore can have its own schedule and instructions, while both stay easy to find in the same room.

Keep the list useful as your household changes
You do not have to map the entire house on day one. Begin with the jobs people already do, see which instructions need more detail, and add chores as new habits take shape. If a room or chore stops being relevant, a parent can edit it in the app.
That is what "unlimited" is meant to support: a chore system that can grow with a real household instead of making you choose which tasks deserve a spot. For ideas to get started, use our household chores list, then put the tasks that fit your family into Xtra Hands.
